Apocrypha
“The apocryphal text commonly referred to as the 2nd Book of Enoch, or the Book of Secrets of Enoch , contains a surprisingly traditional view of both the Judeo-Christian Kingdom of Heaven and its Angelic inhabitants. This is in spite of the fact that this particular Book has been lost for nearly 1,200 years. Apparently, this same document had been held in high esteem among at least some members of the early Christian Church. It contains numerous comments and remarks by the author Enoch of his vivid celestial journey through ten different parts of the Kingdom of Heaven, which are inhabited by a multitude of different Angels, many of them with wings. Similar to the early Church, the theological doctrine of multiple levels of Heaven can be found in at least one of St, Paul’s letters and should continue to be understood as a thoroughly Christian belief system.” – Judeo/Christian Tradition website

(Here Morley and Miller indicate what history shows, that the low-altitude and stonework facilities in Cleveland were not amenable to clear detection of an ether drift. These experiments did, however, help Miller to refine the interferometer and eventually develop an instrument suitable for full detection of an ether-drift in his later experiments atop Mt. Wilson in the 1920s. The progress of this development is detailed in his subsequent papers below.)

Reproduced in many texts and on-line, for example within _Einstein: Essays In Science_, Wisdom/Philosophical Library, NY, 1934, p.98-111. (Here Einstein states the necessity of an ether for his theory of relativity, though declares it cannot be in motion and must not have any properties attributed to it — in short, it must be a total abstraction which cannot be detected. If it were measurable, as with variable light-speed, then it would demolish his theory. See the 1925 paper by Silberstein, and the 2002 paper by DeMeo on “Dayton Miller’s Ether Drift Experiments”, both of which are given below, for quotes from Einstein about this issue.)

It is an example of a paper showing a positive result for ether, but the authors chosing to dismiss a result in favor of a more palatable theory which would be undermined by it.)
